I want to start a business – but where do I even begin?

"I want to start a business — but where do I even begin?"
I hear this almost every week.
And it's fair. Between a business idea and actual launch sit dozens of decisions — financing, legal form, funding, personal risk.
Most founders Google their way through. And lose weeks.
What really holds founders back?
It's rarely the idea. Most people who come to me have a clear vision of what they want to build. What's missing is orientation: Which steps come first? What really matters — and what can wait?
The most common questions I hear:
- Which legal structure fits my idea — sole trader, GmbH or UG?
- Am I eligible for Gründungszuschuss or AVGS funding?
- How do I finance the first months?
- What do I need to consider legally and tax-wise?
- Is my idea actually viable?
These questions can't be answered with a Google search. They need an honest conversation — with someone who knows the way.
The free founders' consultation
That's why once a month I run a free, open founders' consultation.
One hour. Your idea. My honest feedback. No obligation, no follow-up costs.
The consultation is for anyone who:
- has a business idea but doesn't know where to start
- is unsure whether their idea is viable
- has specific questions about funding, financing, or legal structure
- wants to take the first step into self-employment
Important: You don't need to be a German citizen or hold a German degree. Most funding programmes — including Gründungszuschuss and AVGS — depend on your registration status with the Agentur für Arbeit and your residence permit, not your nationality.
Next session: 3 July 2026, 10–11 am
